Version: 1.1
Effective Date: 30 April 2026
This policy sets out the standards and requirements for guest contributions published on the Cyber Rebels website. We publish practical, behaviour-focused cybersecurity content for SMEs, education providers, regulated sectors, and business leaders. Guest contributions must align with that mission.
1. Content Standards
All guest submissions must:
Be original and unpublished (not syndicated or republished elsewhere).
Be written in UK English.
Be educational in nature and not promotional.
Avoid fear-based, alarmist, or exaggerated claims.
Provide practical, evidence-informed insight for real organisations.
Meet a minimum length of 1,200 words (unless otherwise agreed).
Cyber Rebels does not publish:
Thin SEO content or low-effort listicles.
Product-led advertorials or sales pitches disguised as education.
Mass outreach guest posts submitted at volume.
Content primarily intended for backlink acquisition or SEO manipulation.
AI-generated content that has not been substantially authored and reviewed by a qualified human subject-matter expert.
2. Accuracy, Lawfulness, and Claims
Contributors are responsible for ensuring submitted content is accurate, lawful, and not misleading. Content must not include defamatory statements, unverified statistics presented as fact, or claims that could reasonably cause legal or reputational harm. Where statistics are used, contributors should reference credible sources (e.g. NCSC, ICO, UK Government publications, recognised standards bodies, or peer-reviewed research).
3. Intellectual Property and Rights
Contributors must own (or have permission to use) all content submitted, including any third-party images, charts, screenshots, or diagrams. If third-party materials are included, the contributor must provide evidence of permission upon request.
4. Editorial Control and Publication
Cyber Rebels retains full editorial control over all submissions. We may edit content for clarity, structure, tone, compliance alignment, accessibility, and SEO formatting. We may add internal links and adjust headings or layout to match our content standards.
Publication is not guaranteed. We may decline to publish content at our sole discretion, including where the submission does not meet the standards in this policy or does not align with our editorial direction.
5. Revisions
Where a submission has potential but does not meet the required standard, we may (at our discretion) offer the contributor one opportunity to revise and resubmit. Additional revision rounds are not guaranteed.
6. Link Policy
A maximum of one (1) contextual backlink may be permitted, subject to editorial approval. Links must be directly relevant, non-promotional, and point to a credible page that supports the reader.
We do not accept:
Affiliate links, tracking-heavy links, or link-shorteners used to obscure destinations.
Promotional landing pages created primarily for lead capture.
Links to gambling, adult content, essay-writing, or other low-trust industries.
Links that are misleading, unrelated, or inserted unnaturally.
Cyber Rebels may apply rel="nofollow" or rel="sponsored" attributes at our discretion. We may remove or modify external links at any time if they become irrelevant, misleading, compromised, change ownership, are redirected, or are associated with spam, malware, or unethical practices.
7. Fees and Payment
Where a guest contribution includes backlink placement, an editorial review and consideration fee of £50 applies to each individual article submitted , unless otherwise agreed in writing before submission.
This fee applies to one-off submissions, articles submitted as part of a batch, and articles submitted under any ongoing contributor arrangement . Payment must be received before editorial review begins for each individual article.
Cyber Rebels reserves the right to amend its fees at any time. Any revised fee will apply only to future submissions or future review agreements, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Payment of a previous fee, or acceptance of a previous article, does not guarantee the same fee for any future submission.
Fees are non-refundable once editorial review has commenced. Publication is not guaranteed. Payment of the fee does not guarantee publication, backlink inclusion, backlink permanence, link follow status, traffic, rankings, indexing, or any specific search engine outcome.
Cyber Rebels may publish invited expert contributions without charge.
8. Licence to Publish
Contributors retain ownership of their original content. By submitting content, contributors grant Cyber Rebels a non-exclusive, perpetual licence to publish, edit, format, and distribute the content on our website and associated channels (including social media promotion of the published article).
9. Ongoing Compliance and Removal
Cyber Rebels reserves the right to update, amend, unpublish, or remove any guest content at any time at our sole discretion, including (but not limited to) where:
The content no longer aligns with our editorial standards or brand direction.
Linked domains change ownership, are redirected, or become low-quality or unsafe.
Regulatory guidance changes and the content becomes outdated or misleading.
The content is associated with practices that could compromise the integrity of our website.
No refund is due in the event of post-publication removal or link modification under this section.
10. Multiple Submissions
Each guest contribution is treated as a separate submission and will be reviewed on its own merits. Acceptance, review, or publication of one article does not guarantee acceptance, review, publication, backlink approval, or approval of any future article.
Where a contributor submits, or wishes to submit, more than one article — whether as a one-off batch, in stages, or as part of an ongoing contributor arrangement — Cyber Rebels may request article titles, summaries, proposed backlink URLs, author details, and draft content for each individual submission before agreeing to proceed.
Cyber Rebels reserves the right to decline individual articles, decline part of a batch, limit the number or frequency of guest contributions from any individual, organisation, agency, associated domain, or related network, and refuse further submissions at any time.
A separate review and consideration fee applies to each individual article submitted where backlink placement is requested, unless otherwise agreed in writing before submission. The version of this policy in force at the time of each individual submission shall apply.
11. Governing Law
This policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
